60 Month Report

It has been a long 5 years and we have helped so many people learn to swim. We are very proud of all the support through the difficult times and we are ready to continue helping our community learn to swim!

Previously our annual reports have been very popular as the families who see us on a weekly basis love seeing the teams achievements. We want to make sure everyone apart of SafelySwim feels included and is apart of our journey to help individuals learn.

appDot Private Lesson Bookings

Throughout 2022 appDot grew and took on new services to help our Learn to Swim sessions. Customers who take part in Private Lessons now use our parent portal (appDot) to confirm and book 1:1 lessons on a weekly basis.

Families are now able to book the lesson times they need, adding flexibility to swimmers but also the option for regular lessons to those that want it. It has also allowed us to push more lessons for those that were waiting and keeps us running efficiently to maximise our sessions.

We will continue to develop and work on the booking system to make it easier and more convenient for customers to book Private Lessons. We are also looking into new features that will support families and our customers even further.

White Cliffs Swimming Club

After a long-time working with swimmers and completing the setup documentation, we finally have our own members club specially for those wanting to go to competition.

Over the years we have worked hard to push and strive for progress from our swimmers, and now the swimmers are flying we are getting them ready to experience some competitions. The talented individuals will be making the most of the increase in sessions and now being able to go to galas.

We have also added new Stages to help aid swimmers take part in more lessons throughout the week, to find out more about our Stage 6 and 7 classes please see our news post.

New Schools

Returning after Covid in April 2021 our School Swimming Sessions have dramatically increased throughout the week. We have welcomed new swimmers from areas as far as Deal, Canterbury, and Folkestone who previously might have missed out on part of the curriculum.

Although this is amazing and we are proud to see their trust our services, we are still finding majority of the students not be able to swim 5-10 metres by year 6. Bearing in mind the minimum requirement is swimming 25 metres. To find out more about our School Swimming Sessions, please click here.

To help support and track progress, we have introduced new School Swimming Awards which are available to schools and their swimmers. We also ensure those that achieve the 25 metres are awarded with a certificate they can take home! We look forward to continuing these sessions for our community.

New Team Members

We welcomed many new faces to our team in 2022, which has been exciting! After a lot of training and onboarding we are now extremely impressed with those that have joined and are continuing through 2023.

Our internal training has progressed into a trainee pathway which will help onboard new tutors and give them the opportunities to learn and progress their careers in the industry. It has also shown how fortunate we are to have a strong team filled with talented instructors. Working with team members with years of experience teaching, competing, and sea swimming is a luxury and a dream for any team to have.

If you are looking to join us, or even a change in career to something very rewarding, please see our vacancy page.

New Awards

One of the things we learnt from our STA Conference is the awards swimmers are expected to achieve to keep them focused and motivated when learning to swim.

To help support our Governing Body’s goals, have added the following awards to our Learn to Swim pathway.

We have also created a new page that will help parents understand which awards can be ordered depending on the stage they are in. This has proven to be really useful for parents who may have missed awards week before moving up. If you are looking to see which awards you can purchase depending on your stage, please see Which Awards?

New Towels and Personalised Bottles

Due to popular demand and requests from families, we have added our towels and water bottles to the line of products available to customers.

Our towels are perfect for swimmers who collect our badges which can be sewn onto, making them a perfect piece of rememberbelia!

STA Conference

We were very fortunate to be invited to the annual conference to learn about all the new things the industry was doing to help more people learn to swim. The event was full of Learn to Swim providers, training course suppliers and companies who support the industry be it technological, equipment based or competitive swimming services.

It was great to be a part of something that bought many leaders across the country together and learn about their experiences, challenges, and future plans. We took away many ideas and plans that will be integrated into our services at SafelySwim.

Thank You

We want to say thank you to all of our families who join us on a regular basis, without your support and passion for us we wouldn’t be able to do what we do!

2023

There are some very exciting things planned for 2023, and we are super excited about sharing them with you all very soon!
