Adding Stage 6 & 7

We are experiencing amazing progress from our swimmers throughout our lessons. So much so, from January 2023 we will be introducing Stage 6 and 7 classes to our working week.

Currently

When swimmers reach Stage 5, they are introduced to our Learn to Compete which are recommended to attend alongside their current Stage 5 class. While this isn’t exclusively for those who want to swim competitively, we have found that these sessions aren’t for everyone, and some swimmers would prefer to continue with something like their Stage 5 class.

What Are Stage 6 and Stage 7?

These new Stage 6 and 7 classes will be an hour-long and append to our current Learn to Swim Pathway, however will complement and work alongside Learn to Compete.

These classes will remain at the same cost of £9.00 a week, £45.00 for a block of 5 rolling weeks. We will also have awards to work towards and will be monitored and assessed on monthly basis, just like our Learn to Swim.

The classes will be a combination of all the skills needed in swimming including some lifesaving/water safety and water polo alongside core swimming and fitness skills.

When Will They Be?

We will be introducing Stage 6 and 7 classes on a Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evening. Learn to Compete will remain on a Monday evening and Saturday morning. We hope these time slots adds more flexibility to help families find a suitable hour long class for those that wish to continue to progress and develop their swimming.

Stage 6 and 7 Entry Requirements

These classes are for anyone who wants to continue swimming after completing Stage 5 and isn’t keen on joining Learn to Compete. These classes are also for those in Learn to Compete and are looking for an additional hour of swimming at a different point within the week.

These are also for anyone who have achieved our Stage 5 Criteria at another swim school and is looking for something new.

What Will Be Achieved?

By the end of Stage 7 swimmers will be able to

  • Swim 800m
  • Be proficient in all four strokes
  • Complete relevant turns at walls
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of lifesaving skills and how to use them
  • Know some basic water polo skills

This sets them up with all the skills they will need to enjoy swimming for life and the opportunity to progress these skills further as they get older with things such becoming a lifeguard or a swimming teacher.

Currently Booked In Stage 5?

If you have been in one of our Stage 5 classes for a while it is likely that we will be in touch to arrange a Stage 6 or 7 lesson for you.
