48 Month Report

Last year was a tough one, however, I am extremely proud that as a team we managed to pull through and continue to operate. As a tradition at SafelySwim, our annual reports help families and employees understand what we have achieved in the last 12 months. To find out more about what happened over 2021, continue reading!

Actually 39 Months

Although this is titled as our 48 month report, due to covid-19, this should actually have been our 39 month report. Which combines our trading time to just over 3 years, which seems crazy as it feels like we have been going for decades!

I am personally proud of how many families we are now able to help and support, as well as the number of local schools that come all over Kent to be a part of SafelySwim. I hope this continues and thank all the students and participants for their support and efforts learning to swim with us.

New Starters

Over the course of the past few months, we have welcomed new team members and said farewell to loved individuals too; Sophie, Katie and Liberty left the team early Summer 2021, we wish them all the best for the future.

We have welcomed; Amy, Sarah, Hannah and our three new teaching assistants and receptionists; Owen, Molly and Holly. To help the admin team, we have introduced Danika to help India, Esther and I with class bookings, movements and day-to-day operations.

We hope you have great things to say about our new staff members and they look forward to working with all our customers in 2022!

New Badges and Medals

We have recently changed our distance badges and awards to make them more colourful. We hope this change is welcome and will enhance every swimmer’s development!

Over the past 3 months, we have awarded over 300 certificates to swimmers achieving great things. Very proud that so many pupils are swimming further and progressing really quickly. Great stuff!

We also have a brand new medal, arriving in red which will be an exciting addition to our Stage Awards.

New Schools Welcomed

One really important part of SafelySwim, is its dedication to help support local schools. I personally believe this is one of the most important parts of what we do. It really shows how vital swimming is as many students only have this one opportunity to grow their swimming confidence.

Parents are often surprised when I mention we frequently get full Primary School classes that have never been swimming before. We hope parents and the pupils of these sessions understand the opportunity that their school has organised.

Baby & Toddler

We welcomed our first Baby & Toddler sessions back in September 2020, since then we have added multiple days and times throughout the week. We now welcome over 80 young swimmers to these termly sessions. I hope these lessons are a fun part of the week for the children that attend, and their parents too!

We have also finally introduced a Saturday morning B&T session, which has proven to be really popular with busy parents. It is a pleasure to welcome you to SafelySwim.

If you would like to book our Baby & Toddler lessons, please book online.

Group Lessons

After the third lockdown we reopened in April 2021, with our Group Lessons restarting a little later. At the end of 2020 we had 181 Students in groups participating in Stages 2 and above. We then ended 2021 with 441 students in all of our Learn to Swim group lessons.

We are now seeing our biggest participant numbers and we are very proud to be teaching a combined total of 1.3k swimmers a week, including those in our school sessions!

Keep Covid-19 Away

One of our main priorities since Covid-19 first started was to keep the spread of the virus out of our swim school.

We hope all the families and swimmers that visit us regularly have noticed and are happy with the restrictions we have in place. We hope one day to be able to go back to the restriction free, sociable environment we once were.

Thank you

Finally, without all the positive feedback and amazing community support, we at SafelySwim wouldn’t be the same. We all want to thank everyone who has helped us over the past four years and we hope to continue what we do best!
