Privacy Policy Update and how we use Your Data

Transparency is very important to us at SafelySwim. Our customers form a part of our extended family and we want to ensure everyone feels welcome and knows what we do with their information. We have recently made some updates in our privacy policy/retention policy to make it more appropriate as a result of the prolonged Coronavirus closures.

Most Important

We haven’t changed how we use or collect your Data, however we have made our policy easier for people to read and understand what we do with the information you provide us and how we keep it safe.

What has Been Updated?

Previously accounts would be deleted from our system if the swimmer had been inactive for 12 months and had a balance of £0.00, unless we received a notification from the parent/gardian that they were returning after 12 months.

Since we have been closed for 8 of the 12 months in 2020 due to Covid-19, deleting accounts after 12 months of inactivity would mean loosing loyal customers balances as some familes were unable to return in August – December 2020.

To help support our customers we have included a clause which accounts for these extended closures. If we have another extended closure the time that we are closed will be accumulated and then added to the 12 month period once we reopen. This will stop those who are waiting to rejoin having their accounts removed along with their balances/lesson credit.

So, What Data do we Actually Collect?

We collect things such as name, D.O.B, contact details and any relevant medical information that is submitted through our ‘sign up’ and ‘contact’ forms. We will also collect user details and when an account was last logged into for AppDot and booking site. Full details of all the data we collect can be found in the updated Privacy Policy.

What do we do With Your Data?

We use the data you have provided us to book swimmers into classes, private lesson slots or sessions. We need your contact details as well as any information on swimming ability to find a suitable class. Should you be taking part in Private Lessons, we use your information to help our instructor’s get you booked into a suitable lesson slot. We may also use your data to contact you about new classes, events, closures and updates to help you stay connected and get the best experaince at SafelySwim.

Our full privacy policy can be found here .
