What We Achieved – Together
Back in December 2024, we faced the very real possibility of a complete closure. With our main venue at The Duke of York’s Royal Military School temporarily unavailable, it was a moment that could have brought everything to a halt.
Instead, with the support of our community, team and families, we came together — and moved forward.
Over the following months, we didn’t just “hold on” — we adapted, grew, and built something stronger. And now, as we return to DOYRMS, we want to take a moment to look back and celebrate the journey.
We Kept Swimming
Through determination and planning, we were able to:
- Launch a brand-new venue – SafelySwim Endless, opening up new opportunities and lesson formats
- Continue supporting 70% of our families with alternative lessons, even without access to our main pool
- Introduce new sessions, including Casual Swims and Adult Private Lessons during the day
- Upgrade our booking system, making it easier than ever to manage sessions
- Deliver First Aid training to local Year 5 and 6 pupils – sharing lifesaving skills with the next generation
- Keep our entire team together, with no redundancies made during closure
- Welcome new families into our SafelySwim community – many of whom stayed on even after joining mid-closure
All while ensuring we stayed true to what makes us SafelySwim — care, quality and community at every level.
You Told Us What It Meant
The response from our families has been nothing short of humbling. We’ve received messages of gratitude, encouragement, and support throughout.
From families with multiple children managing schedules, to adult swimmers feeling reassured by the consistency of their instructors — every comment meant the world to us.
Here are just a few of the things we heard:
“Even during closure, it felt like nothing changed — the consistency and support were brilliant.”
“SafelySwim always finds a way – that’s why we stay with you.”
“We were worried when the pool closed, but the support was amazing. Everything was stress-free.”
Thank You
To every swimmer, parent, guardian, supporter and staff member — thank you.
Thank you for sticking with us. For trusting us. For swimming with us.
As we return to full operations, we’re more excited than ever for what’s to come — and more confident than ever in the strength of our SafelySwim community.
We did this together.
