Gatherings of 6 and how it Applies to us

The new guidance is to become law on the 14th September 2020. This blog goes over how it affects us and what we are doing.

As we are a business with a governing body, we are continuing as we were and following what has been recommend to keep our side as safe as possible and Covid-19 Secure. However, there are additional rules we need to apply to our current operations to follow and update with the new guidance from the government.

Only one Parent/Guardian

We have always requested parents to minimise the amount of people arriving at the pool, however, we are now continuing to reinforce this with only allowing one parent per swimmer. This means no additional spectators are arriving at the centre and adding to the risks and groupings of people indoors. Please try and avoid brining extra siblings and family members with you.

Wear a Face Mask

We are continuing our requirement of wearing a face mask for every spectator over the age of 11. This must be worn throughout the whole time inside the facility. For more details about this, use the link below.

Hygiene Precautions

We are taking hygiene very seriously; we are recommending using the hand sanitiser when you arrive and leave. There is an alcohol spray on the wall in Reception as well as one on by the exit. We have also placed more bottles on tables around the facility, as well as two inside each changing room, please make sure you use these every time.

Rule of Six

We do not host parties or family swimming sessions; all of our classes are scheduled lessons that are led by an instructor. However, this does not mean that people can use this time to schedule a catch-up with families and friends. Please make sure you keep your distance from other families outside your household/bubble whilst at the pool with us.

Covid-19 Secure Business

We are continuing to follow the guidance from the governing body that represents the swimming industry and we will keep everyone updated when things change.

“Club activity and swimming lessons will be able to continue as previously as they are taking place in Covid-secure environments – but they must continue to adhere to our Returning to the Pool guidance.” - Swim England (www.swimming.org)

Private Property of a Boarding School

It is important to understand we are located on a boarding school’s property and the safety of their school students is their upmost priority. We want to remain open and continue to help support the community to learn to swim, however should parents flaunt the rules and refrain from following them we will have to sadly ask them to leave and to return at a later stage in time. This includes;

  • not social distancing on campus
  • refraining from wearing a face mask indoors
  • gathering outside the swimming pool

I hope this helps everyone understand how this new guidance applies to us.
