What a Year it has Been and What to Expect in 2021

On the 13th March 2020, SafelySwim sadly closed for the first time due to Covid-19. Since then we have reopened twice and are set to re-open in April 2021, more information about our third return will follow shortly. Over the past year we have managed to work around the closures and lockdowns, however, we fear it has impacted on our customers and the children that want to learn to swim. To help individuals catch up, we have a few ideas for this summer.

Summer Crash Course

We are looking at offering one-off bookable classes throughout July. Crash Course sessions will be for those in Stage 1 to Stage 5 who want to swim more than once a week. These additional classes will hopefully allow children to catch up on their swimming lessons and claim back lost time due to our closures throughout 2020 and 2021. Also, an added extra to those already taking part in a weekly Group or Private Lesson.

Splash Morning

Depending on government guidelines, we are hoping we are able to bring our Splash Morning back to reintroduce some social interaction for those in our Stage 4 and above, Learn to Compete and Speed Through Technique. This will depend on social distancing rules, currently predicted to be updated from June 21st 2021.

Summer Training Camp

Before we closed in March 2020, we had a Training Camp scheduled for over Easter Half Term. Sadly due to the lock-down we had to cancel this event, however, we are working to deliver a Summer Training Camp over the holidays to help prep the competitive swimmers for the next season of competition. Once again, this depends on social distancing rules for this summer.

Seahorses & Stage 1

Should things go to plan, we hope to be able to return those that were in our Seahorses and Stage 1 classes that haven’t yet been able to return since March 2020. We do apologise for the length of time it has taken to find something suitable, unfortunately due to Covid-19 regulations it has been difficult for us to find a solution for new children requiring additional support in the water. Our priority is to follow safety regulations and also to be able to provide the quality of swimming lessons our customers expect. We hope to welcome those in Seahorses and Stage 1 this summer.

Keep an Eye Out

We will continue to use Social Media and global emails to keep everyone updated. For more information about when we are expecting to return, please see the blog below.

We Count as Step 2
